Sertaconazole Nitrate 2.0%

Sertaconazole Cream is a type of medicine called imidazole (which works against fungal infections). It is mainly used on the skin to treat athlete’s foot (a fungal infection between the toes) in healthy patients who are 12 years and older. This infection is caused by fungi like Trichophyton rubrum, Epidermophyton floccosum, and Trichophyton mentagrophytes. Also, Sertaconazole Cream is used to treat other fungal skin problems. Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection that mainly affects the skin between the toes. A fungal infection, also called mycosis, is a skin problem caused by a fungus.

Sertaconazole Cream has a type of antifungal medicine called sertaconazole nitrate. Sertaconazole helps by killing the fungus that makes you sick. Sertaconazole Cream kills fungi by making holes in their cell membranes, causing their insides to leak out. This stops the fungus and keeps the infection from happening.

Use Sertaconazole Cream exactly as your doctor tells you to, both in amount and how long to use it. Only use what you need, because using too much won’t help you get better faster and might make side effects worse. Don’t use the medicine longer than your doctor says. Tell your doctor if you don’t feel better after 2 to 4 weeks. The medicine works better if you keep the area clean and dry, and wash your hands before and after using it. If you have athlete’s foot, make sure to wash your socks or tights well and try to change your shoes every day if you can.
