Fluocinolone Acetonide  & Miconazole Nitrate Lotion

Fluocinolone Acetonide 0.01% & Miconazole Nitrate 2.00%- This lotion is a combination of two strong components- Fluocinolone acetonide and Miconazole nitrate. Together these components treat fungal infections of the skin like psoriasis (itchy and dry patches on the skin), dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), and eczema (dry, itchy, and bumpy skin).

Chemical Class: Fluocinolone acetonide(corticosteroid) and miconazole nitrate (antifungal).

Mechanism of Action: Fluocinolone blocks the production of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for causing itchy, red, and swollen skin. Miconazole works by killing the fungus that causes skin infections.

Habit-Forming: No habit-forming tendencies were reported.

Precautionary measures

6. The lotion does not affect your ability to focus or stay alert. Hence, you can engage in activities and drive. Just avoid contamination of the applicated area.

Drug warnings

1. Fluocinolone acetonide & miconazole nitrate lotion is a category C pregnancy drug. Please discuss the same with your doctor to avoid unpleasant reactions in the future.
2. This lotion is not recommended for children less than 2 years of age. Children above two years of age should apply the lotion only if prescribed.
3. Do not apply on open wounds, cuts, and infected areas.
4. Prolonged use of the lotion can cause conditions like skin thinning, small veins, or stretch marks. Hence, use only till advised.

How to use Fluocinolone Acetonide & Miconazole Nitrate Lotion

• Wash the affected areas only with water.
• Shake well before application.
• Apply a thin layer of fluocinolone acetonide & miconazole nitrate lotion on the affected areas as directed by your doctor.
• Avoid contact with eyes, nose, or mouth, and wash your hands with soap after application.
• Let the skin absorb the lotion and then wear clothes.
