Clotrimazole 1% Dusting Powder – CANTIL is a medication composed of Clotrimazole 1%. This is an antifungal medication that fights infections caused by fungus. CANTIL works by damages the fungal cell wall and alters the permeability. It inhibits the activity of intracellular enzymes.

Therapeutic indications

• For the treatment of all dermatomycoses due to molds and other fungi (e.g. Trichophyton species)
• All dermatomycoses due to yeasts (Candida species). These include ringworm (tinea) infections (e.g. athlete’s foot), paronychia, pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma, and intertrigo.
• Skin diseases showing secondary infection with these fungi.
• Candidal nappy rash, vulvitis, and balanitis.
• This medication is used to treat vaginal yeast infections. Clotrimazole reduces vaginal burning, itching, and discharge that may occur with this condition. (Consult the doctor before vaginal use)

Side Effects

• Stop using clotrimazole topical and call your doctor at once if you have:
• severe blistering of treated skin;
• swelling, redness, or oozing; or
• severe burning, itching, or other irritation.
• Vaginal/urethral burning/itching/pain, or lower abdominal cramps may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Usage

• Use this medication on the skin only.
• Clean and thoroughly dry the area to be treated.
• Apply this medication to the affected skin, usually twice a day or as directed by your doctor. Apply enough medication to cover the affected area and some of the surrounding skin.
• After applying this medication, wash your hands. Do not wrap, cover or bandage the area unless directed to do so by your doctor.
