Cyclosporine refers to the category of medicines which is known as ‘immunosuppressants’. It is used to reduce organ rejection after a transplant. It also helps to reduce the pain/inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis situations and the treatment of psoriasis. Organ rejection is caused when the patient’s immune system allows the donor organ.
Cyclosporin capsules can be consumed with or without food. You are advised to take it at the same time regularly as directed by your doctor according to the dose and frequency. Always finish a complete course of this antibiotic as directed by your doctor. Do not omit taking it until you have completed the course, even if you start to feel better. If you omit taking it too soon, some of the bacteria might remain and the infection will return.
The most frequent side effects of this drug are memory loss, confusion, insomnia (trouble sleeping), and dizziness. Alert your doctor if you have skin rashes, tremors, fits, speech or movement difficulty, depression, or other moods, thoughts, or behaviour changes.
Do not use it until you inform your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotics or have kidney and liver disease. Pregnant women and breastfeeding women should not take this drug. Your doctor will receive routine blood and urine testing during treatment with this drug.

When should Cyclosporin Capsules be taken with food and when without food?
Take Cyclosporin Capsule orally with or without food as directed by your doctor, normally twice a day (every 12 hours) during the first 2 weeks.
Who should not receive a Cyclosporin Capsule?
Cyclosporin Capsules should not be taken by people who have a history of seizures or psychiatric disorders, as it may worsen these conditions. It should also be used with caution in people with kidney or liver disease.
